Description
Dr. Jared Pingleton is trained and credentialed both as a minister and as a clinical psychologist and has dedicated his professional career to bringing help, hope and healing to hurting people and relationships. In clinical practice since 1977, his professional specialty is the integration of biblical truth with the principles of clinical psychology, addressing a wide variety of relationship and mental health topics from a distinctly Christian perspective. Jared serves as the Vice President of Professional Development for the nearly 50,000 member American Association of Christian Counselors. In this leadership role he provides oversight and execution of all AACC professional development for the membership in an effort to help educate, equip, empower and encourage fellow Christian mental health and ministry professionals. He also oversees the AACC’s Christian counselor referral network, their professional Credentialing Board, various partnerships with other ministry organizations, the development of continuing education curriculum and programs, and provides general mentoring as well as clinical, legal and ethical consultation to the membership. His wealth of clinical experience blended with common sense practical application of Biblical relationship principles has resulted in the publication of numerous articles published in professional journals and co-authorship of the following other books: “Be Strong and Surrender” (along with Dr. Paul Meier and Rev. Phil Dvorak, 2016), “Praying With Jesus” (along with several other authors including Josh McDowell, Mark Batterson, Dr. Jack Hayford, Stormie Omartian, Ronnie Floyd, and Sammy Rodriguez, 2015), and “Christian Perspectives on Human Development” (edited by Drs. Leroy Aden, David Benner and J. Harold Ellens, 1992). Dr. Pingleton earned his doctorate and master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from the Rosemead School of Psychology at Biola University, a master’s in Counseling from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, and a bachelor’s from Evangel University, where he majored in Psychology, Sociology, and Biblical Studies.
